To open and edit an eps file using inkscape, you can install ghostscript. I tried the pdf save a copy and its working fine, im attaching the file i got. Ghostscript helps you convert the eps file data into v. It doesnt mean you cant open and edit an eps file with inkscape. I would also like for the images to remain scalable.
